2008 Thorpe Reserve
Cabernet Sauvignon

Produced from 100% Estate grown fruit from our award-winning 5 acre block, this wine is jet black in the glass and has a complex palate of ironstone, cocoa, raspberry, and black olives. Kept on its skins for 3 weeks with Malolactic Fermentation in barrel, 64% has been aged in 2-3 yr old French hogsheads and 36% in new French oak for 18 months. It has the typical generosity of McLaren Vale Cab; mainly, being full structured with noticeable wood elements which purely support the wine adding fine, smooth tannins without dominating it. Although approachable now, the Thorpe Reserve Cabernet will continue to age harmoniously into the future.
