2008 Thorpe Chardonnay

Carefully selected from an elevated, sandy site in McLaren Flat, our chardonnay is racy and stony with lifted aromatics of white peaches and dried almonds. On the palate it drinks like a tightly wound Meursault; there is lemon zest and a wonderful nutty complexity with very good depth. 2 year old French oak barrels allowed the wine to soften up, but still retain its vibrant acidity. Thorpe Chardonnay is meant to be enjoyed now, or as soon as you can get it.
